Semifinal tickets will be on sale at Peach County High School on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.  Ticket money has to turned in to GACS Friday afternoon so, tickets will be sold on Friday from 8:00 - 11:00 am. Tickets are $15.00.

School Status

All schools in the Peach County School District will be open tomorrow at their regularly scheduled times with the exception of Byron Elementary School and Byron Middle School. Byron Elementary School and Byron Middle School will be closed tomorrow due to power outages in these buildings.

School Closure

The Peach County School System will be closed tomorrow Sept. 12, 2017, due to Hurricane Irma.

School is anticipated to resume normal operations on Wednesday.

The ACCUPLACER test will be given on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 8:00 am.  All stidents interested in taking the test should report to the Main Office.

Pre-K Registration prek

Registration for Peach County Pre-K will begin, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 and lasts through Wednesday, March 22, 2017.   There are 22 slots available at each elementary school. Guidelines and registration packets will be available at Hunt Elementary, Kay Road Elementary, Byron Elementary and the Peach County Board of Education beginning March 1, 2017.

The slots will be filled using a lottery process. Completion of the registration packet by March 22, 2017 does not guarantee your child a slot in the Pre-K class but does guarantee that your child’s name will be entered in the lottery for a chance to earn a slot. The lottery will be held on March 23, 2107. All applications for students received after March 22nd will be placed on a waiting list. If you have any additional question regarding pre-k registration, please contact one of our elementary schools.

All completed applications should be returned to the school you are registering your child for. Remember priority will be given to students within a school’s attendance zone.

Solar Eclipse

On Monday, August 21, 2017, we will experience a solar eclipse of the sun. The eclipse will begin around 1:00 p.m. and peak around 2:40 p.m. It will be a phenomenal event, and perhaps one that we will never experience again in our lifetime.

Each school will provide students with meaningful learning opportunities to help them learn about the eclipse. Because the eclipse will pose some safety challenges, anyone planning to view it should wear a pair of solar viewing glasses. We have purchased every student a pair of solar viewing glasses.

We will not have early release for students; however, we will make every attempt to ensure students are wearing their solar viewing glasses and enjoy this once-in-a

School will be closed in order for the Peach County High School Trojan Football Team, band, and cheerleaders to travel to Atlanta to participate in the 2017 State Championship football game on Friday, December 8, 2017, at 1:00 p.m.
We support our student athletes in the classroom, as well as in extra-curricular activities; therefore, we look forward to supporting them with much excitement and Trojan Pride in the Mercedes Benz Stadium (home of the Atlanta Falcons) during the 2017 State Championship Football Game.

Due to its recent exit from the Priority list, Peach County High School is now a 2017 SSAS Greatest Gains (Gold) award winner.  The school should receive award letters and certificates within the next two weeks, and banners should arrive at the school by mid-January. PCHS NJROTC Cadets Earth Day 2017 Community Service

NJROTC Community Service

Cadets from PCHS NJROTC program performed over 4 hours of community service on Saturday, April 22 while participating in the Peach County Keep America Beautiful trash pickup campaign.  Over 15 NJROTC unit members and about 15 local community participants helped pick up trash and debris from 2 roadsides in Fort Valley on Earth Day.

Congratulations to G'iovonni Flournoy, he won Second Place in Masonry at the Southwestern Georgia Skills Challenge in Moultrie. He was competing against 19 other school systems. 
He was competing against students from 19 other school systems.This is the fourth medal he has won in masonry. Special thanks to Mr. Davis for all of his hard work in preparing his students for competition, and Mr. Flanders for running the best CTAE Department in the State... Go Trojans!

The Peach County High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club ventured to the annual Georgia
National Fair in Perry to attend the 2017 Fall Motivational Rally on Thursday, October 12, 2017. The Rally was an event loaded with competition, food, and fun– but most importantly, it was filled with insight on becoming an effective leader!  Accompanied by their Advisor, Marecia Gregory, and chaperones Mr. Troy Dailey, Mrs. Mirta Cortes and Mrs. Anaya Harris, they were able to enjoy this wonderful experience.

This is the 2017 Peach County High School Automotive Engine Build Team. They are sponsored by MSD Performance Products this season. The team qualified for nationals in their first ever competition build with a 30:46. Not pictured are alternates Donavan Clark and Trey Harper.

Peach Co. High School Band Students Perform in Prestigious Ensemble


PCHS Band clarinetists Kamari Hardee and Sarah Choi were selected and performed with the 2017 GMEA Region All-Star Honor Band on Saturday, April 6 - 8 at Valdosta State University. Students are selected for the 2017 Region Honor

Band based upon their district & state level audition scores.  The Region All - Star Band consist of the top high school musicians from Central, South & Southeast Georgia.

Peach Co. HS Symphonic Band Earns 10th Consecutive Superior Rating

Symphonic Band

The Peach County HS Symphonic Band, under the direction of Mr. Darren Johnson Sr., earned its 10th consecutive highest State Band Evaluation rating of "Superior" performing advance/professional level band literature on Saturday March 11th at the 2017 District 11 GMEA State High School Band Evaluations held at Houston County High School in Warner Robins, GA.

The Band performed three prepared selections for three state recognized adjudicators in the field of music education. In addition, the students took a music reading test. The rating of "Superior" denotes "Outstanding performance, worthy of distinction of being recognized as among the very best." Each Band member will receive an engraved medallion commemorating their accomplishment. This evaluation program is basically the "End Of Course Test (EOCT) for middle & high school band programs and is sponsored by the Georgia Music Educators Association.

Mr. Johnson would like to thank the students for their outstanding work and the band parents for their support and donating their time volunteering.  Lastly, Mr. Johnson would like to thank the Administration for their support.



Justin Harris is one of 24 student athletes named to the Georgia High School Association Student-Athlete Advisory Council. The students will focus on learning more about the GHSA and serve as ambassadors.CONGRATULATIONS!

Peach County High School 2017 Homecoming Parade Parade

The Peach County High School homecoming parade is scheduled for Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.  Applications are available in the front office, the NJROTC department and the PCHS website.  All clubs and sponsors are encouraged to participate.  Any community organizations that would like to participate are asked to contact Petty Officer Bert at Peach County High School (478) 825-8258 Ext. 1644. There is no charge.  Applications must be complete in order to participate in the parade.  All vehicles and floats will be assigned numbers after returning the completed application.  Medical Liability Release Forms are required for all students riding on vehicles or floats.  Click Here for homecoming parade forms.  All parade participants will line up at 4:30 in the open field next to the Boys and Girls Club.

Annual Title I Meeting

Peach Co. High School Band Students Perform In GMEA District XI High School All-Star Bands

District Band

  Four PCHS Band students earned membership through auditioning for the 2017 Georgia Music Educators Association's District XI All-Star Honor Band. Hundreds of high school band students from counties in Central Georgia auditioned at Perry High School in December for membership in this prestigious ensemble. (Pictured from left to right) Alexandria Shelly, trumpet; Sarah Choi, clarinet; Kamari Hardee, clarinet; & Ikeia Smith, clarinet.

    Students in these bands are recognized as some of the best in Central Georgia. Kamari Hardee earned the state’s cutoff score and was recommended to the second round state audition for the Georgia All-State Band. To qualify for the prestigious ensembles, the students had to play scales, a lyrical solo, and a music sight reading test. These students will receive GMEA State medals and a plaque for their accomplishment.

  The District Band performed on Saturday, February 11th at the Baldwin High School Performing Arts Center in Milledgeville, Ga. The PCHS Band is under the direction of Mr. Darren Johnson.

NJROTC American Legion Oratorical Contest Winners

The American Legion Post 76 held its annual Constitutional Speech Oratorical Contest on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the post home on Peach Parkway.
Three contestants participated in this local contest, all are NJROTC students at Peach County High School.  Each contestant delivered a prepared speech on the United States Constitution along with an assigned (extemporaneous) speech on Amendment 7.
Devin LaCoe, an 11th-grade student, won First Place with his speech entitled, “The Reconstruction of America”. LaCoe will represent Post 76 at the next level of competition, The Sixth District Contest, on February 11 in Milledgeville.
Other contestants of the Local Post 76 contest were also PCHS NJROTC students:  Second place Tyseon Slaughter in 12th grade;  and Third place Tori Smith, 11th grade.   Both First and Third place contestants are eligible to compete again in 2018.

The Peach County High School Chamber Choir participated in the 7th Annual Heritage Festival, February 3-4. This year, the clinician for the festival was Dr. Marcia Hood, Director of Choral Activities at Albany State University. The All Douglas Choir was composed of Central, Rutland, Southwest and Peach County High Schools.

Peach Co. HS Band Students Perform in the UGA School 2017 All-Star Band

All-Star Band

Five Peach County High School Band students were chosen by the UGA Band staff to participate in their 67th Annual High School All-Star Band known as "Janfest," held January 19-22 in Athens, Ga. Pictured from left to right, the students were Jack McEver, percussion; Griffin Meeks, tuba; Kamari Hardee, clarinet; Ikeia Smith, clarinet and Cassie Hayes, trombone. These students were chosen based upon their musical achievements/accomplishments, instrumentation needs and Band Director Mr. Darren Johnson's recommendation. Typical festival attendance is approximately 1000 band students from 130 high schools.

   During this four-day event, students are ranked and placed in one of the eight festival bands on the basis of an initial audition upon arrival. These bands rehearse several times with nationally recognized conductors in preparation for a final concert performance on the final afternoon of the event at the UGA Performing Arts Center.  The recordings of their performances are on UGA Band's website. The students attended performances by guest high school bands and UGA music ensembles. In addition, the students attended workshops taught by UGA professors.

Parts Pro Recognizes Fastest Builds at Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Championship – Peach Co. High School

Engine Builders

AAM Group through its Parts Pro marketing program, presented the brand-new Excellence Cup to the fastest overall perfect engine build winner at the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Dual National Championships in Indianapolis. Team Fragola from Peach County High School in Georgia, coached by Johnny Rickerson, won the trophy.

AAM created The Excellence Cup as a perpetual award that will be kept and displayed by the winning school for one year and then transferred annually to the fastest perfect engine building team among the Elite 8 teams. The base will be inscribed with the team’s name and school of all past winners as a perpetual recognition of their accomplishments. Click Here for complete article.

The Peach County High School Band Earn Top Honors in Alabama

    On Saturday September 30, the PCHS Marching Trojan Band traveled to Phenix City, Alabama to compete in the 37th Annual Phenix City Invitational Marching Band Festival held at Garret-Harrison Stadium. The Peach County Band earned the highest rating of "Superior" which denotes Outstanding performance; Worthy of Distinction of being recognized as among the very Best, in all areas to include Flags, Drill Team, Drum Major, Drum line & overall Band. The Band was awarded trophies for each area. The Peach County High School Bands have earned the highest honors in every state and national competition entered for the past ten consecutive years. "Our band students can compete with any band program in the country" stated Darren Johnson, Director. There are PCHS Band students on band scholarships performing in college bands all over the south, stated Johnson.

     On October 9, 2017 the Peach County High School Students competed in several Design Challenges at the GA National Fair in Perry, GA. Technology Day at the Georgia National Fair provides Georgia TSA (Technology Student Association) members with an opportunity to compete in various competitions to win money for their chapter and participate in a motivational rally to help students get pumped up and excited about the year to come!
