Meet the “Trojan Scholars” for the Month of September

PCHS is starting a new series “Trojan Scholar”. There will be one boy and one girl chosen each month.

The Trojan Scholar girl for September is Sarah Choi. Sarah is a senior at Peach County High School where she has participated in Future Problem Solvers and her team has gone on to both State and International Competition. She has also, participated in Band earning Middle Georgia District Honor Band and the Georgia South Region Honor Band, she was FBLA President and finished in 1st Place in Hospitality Management at the FBLA Regional Leadership Conference, 3rd Place in Introduction to Business Communications at the FBLA Regional Leadership Conference, and she is a UGA Certificate of Merit recipient.  Sarah is currently dual enrolled at Middle Georgia State University.  Following graduation, she plans to attend a University to study Neuroscience. Sarah is the daughter of Sung San Choi and Hye Eun Lee. She has one brother and three sisters. Her grandparents live in South Korea.

Sarah would like to share: Peach County has provided me with so much help and support; the teachers, counselors, and staff have encouraged me so much.  Dr. Bell, Ms. Song and their families have shown me overwhelming kindness as my family in Georgia. The Trojan Scholar boy for September is Jerry J. Harper III. Jerry also known as “Trey” is a senior at Peach County High School where he plays tenor saxophone in the Marching Band, and one of the section leaders for low brass. He is President of Technology Student Association, PCHS Chapter, member of National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars. He is a UGA Certificate of Merit recipient, on the A+ Honor Roll through high school; received 1st, 2nd and 3rd year band awards along with wind ensemble awards and NHS Community Service Award. Trey is currently dual-enrolled at Middle Georgia State University. Following graduation, he hopes to attend Mercer University to study Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering. Trey is the son of Jerry J. Harper Jr. and Scarlette Harper. He is the grandson of Ruth and Jerry J. Harper Sr., and Dixie and Robert Hale.
