Cancellations

cancelledPeach County Schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, October 10th due to weather. (Thursday and Friday are scheduled Fall Break days.)

The football game scheduled for Wednesday, October 10th has also been cancelled due to weather. 

We wish everyone a great Fall Break, and we will see you back on Monday, October 15th. Stay safe!


PICTURE DAY

PDPicture Day for Byron MIddle School will be Wednesday, October 24th. 

The dress for pictures is school appropriate attire or BETTER.. 

NO jeans or t-shirts will be allowed in school pictures.

Cheerleaders Bagging Groceries

grocOur BMS Cheerleaders will be bagging groceries on Saturday, September 1st at FreshWay Market in Byron. Come out between 10:00am and 4:00pm to support our team!!

Back to School BASH

bsbThe BMS BETA Club is sponsoring a BACK TO SCHOOL BASH on August 24th from 2:00 till 5:00. The cost of admission will be $5.00. We weill have music, dancing, and a full concession stand for the students. Students who purchase a ticket will be allowed to wear jeans and a "school appropriate" shirt including a t-shirt for the day. The dance is open to BMS students only! 


Band Rental Night

bandWe will have an Instrument Testing & Showcase with Music & Arts on Thursday, August 9th from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Byron Middle School band room. If you have not purchased or started renting an instrument already, this is a time where you and your child can explore the different instruments and get help choosing the instrument that will give them the best chance of success.  Representatives will be on-site to assist you with purchases and rentals.  Please bring check and credit card info and your driver’s license. If you are unable to attend, please contact our Music & Arts representative, Brian Gunter@ 478-342-6628 and say you are from Byron Middle School. SROMEET OUR NEW SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER (SRO), DEPUTY MCCRANIE

Deputy McCranie is from Grovania, Georgia, and he is a 2004 graduate of Westfield High School. 

He worked many years as a Peach County Volunteer Firefighter before joining the Peach County Sheriff's Office in 2011.

He began working patrol in 2014, and he is a member of the Peach County SWAT team.

We are excited to WELCOME Deputy McCranie to our team at BMS!

SOFTBALL TRYOUTS

sbSoftball tryouts begin Tuesday, July 31st! All young ladies wishing to tryout for softball will meet today in Coach K's room (801) at the dismissal bell. They will change into athletic wear in the gym and walk over to North Peach Park as a group. Tryouts will be Tuesday - Thursday each day until 5:00pm. Students must be picked up at 5:00 by a parent from North Peach Park. ***STUDENTS MUST HAVE A COMPLETED PHYSICAL ON FILE WITH THE SCHOOL OFFICE IN ORDER TO TRY OUT!***

Seamless Summer Seamless Summer Logo

The Peach County School Nutrition Program is proud to announce that we will be providing meals at no cost to children during the summer as part of the USDA Seamless Summer Food Service Program. This program provides meals at no cost to any child under the age of 18. There are no income requirements.

Summer meals will be served at Peach County High School, Monday through Thursday. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and Lunch from 11:00
a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The program will run June 4th – June 28th 2018.

Sports Physicals

sspPCHS will be hosting an afternoon for sports physicals on April 2, 2018.  The exams will begin at 5:30pm.  There will be a bus provided to carry students to PCHS on that day.  The bus will be here at BMS at 5pm to carry students down to Fort Valley.  The students can ride back to BMS on the bus once ALL physicals are completed, or they can call and have someone pick them up at the PCHS gym when their individual physical is complete.  Time of returning to BMS is unknown.  The cost of the physical will be $10, and the parent permission portion must be completed on the physical forms and brought to the high school on that day as well.

Please make sure your child is here each day by 7:30 so testing can begin on time. 6th and 7th grade students will test in Math and ELA. 8th grade students will test in Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies.

Boys and Girls Soccer Team: You are INVITED!!

soccerBoys and girls soccer teams have been invited to go to a PCHS soccer game.  It was originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 20th; however, it had to be moved to Wednesday, March 21st at 5:30pm.  Coach Spradley and Coach Parker should be down at the game to allow their players into the game.  Girls should wear their jerseys.  Parents must bring their students to the high school and pick them up, as there will not be a bus for this event.

Scoliosis Screening

The Health Department will be at the school on Wednesday, February 7th to perform scoliosis screenings on all students in 6th and 8th grade (not 7th). A form will be sent home with students as we get closer to the date. If you choose for your child to NOT participate, please complete the form that comes home with your student.

MGDanceA Mardi Gras Masquerade dance will be held at BMS on Friday, February 9th from 5:30-7:30.  Advanced tickets will be sold for $7. Tickets at the door will be sold for $9. This event is open to grades 6, 7, and 8.
