Six Peach County High School Band students have been chosen by the UGA Band staff to participate in their annual high school all-star band festival known as "Janfest", January 17-20, 2013. Pictured above from left to right, the students are  Christopher Poole - tenor Sax; Julia Frederick - Percussion; Colton Cason - trombone; Gerkevia Freeman - clarinet; Ryan Jackson - French Horn, & Joshua Jones - baritone sax.

These students were chosen based upon Band Director Mr. Darren Johnson's recommendation, instrumentation need of the festival bands, and musical achievements of the students. Typical festival attendance is approximately 1000 students from 130 schools.

During this four day event, students are placed in one of the eight festival bands on the basis of an initial audition. These bands rehearse several times before a final performance on the final afternoon of the event. Attendees also enjoy performances by guest high school bands and UGA ensembles. Final concerts will be held at UGA's Performing Art Center.
