Curriculum

Welcome to the Peach County Curriculum Web Page.

Curriculum is the term given to what is taught and learned as opposed to instruction, which describes how it is taught. In Georgia we have two curriculum systems in place for the four core subject areas of Math, English/Language Arts/Reading, Social Studies, and Science. They are the Quality Core Curriculum (QCC) and the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS).

The QCC has been in place for almost twenty years. It is essentially a list of what teachers should teach at every grade level and in every subject. Over the next five years, the QCC will gradually be replaced by the GPS, which are more detailed descriptions of what students should understand and be able to do after completing a grade or course.

Below is a list of which curriculums will be used for each grade and subject during the 2006-2007 school year.
