Vision

We will graduate college and career ready students that are able to meet the challenges of a global workforce that includes 21st century soft skills.  Our goal is to produce self-sufficient, socially competent, critical thinking, and problem-solving individuals.

Counselor’s Mission Statement

My mission for Hunt Elementary School is to promote educational performance, providing all students with the opportunities to acquire the academic, career, personal, and social competencies necessary to achieve quality learning and life-long success.

Biography

This is my 24th year in the Peach County School System as a School Counselor.  I am a graduate of The Fort Valley State University where I received a Master of Science Degree in Guidance and Counseling.  I also received an Educational Specialist Degree from Troy State University in Phenix City, Alabama.   I am excited to serve the students at Hunt Elementary School as if this is my first year of service.  As we go throughout the school year, my goal is to make sure that all students achieve and reach their highest potential.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Some of my job duties and responsibilities as a School Counselor are as follows:

I conduct Character Education Lessons with all students, Pre-k - fifth grade, which include the following: classroom and school rules, bullying, teasing, self-control, decision-making skills, etc.

I conduct Classroom Guidance Lessons based on the students' needs and the school's needs.  Some of the lessons may include: organizational skills, study skills, motivational skills, listening skills, and test taking skills.

I provide Individual Counseling Sessions based on the student's needs which may include: death of a family member, divorce of a parent, self-esteem issues, self-control issues, peer pressure, decision making, transitional problems, bullying and teasing, etc.

I provide Group Guidance Sessions based on students' needs which may include: academic and behavioral concerns, teasing, bullying, and conflict resolution.

Some of the activities that I conduct at the school are Red Ribbon Week which is held October 23rd-31st annually and Career Awareness Day which will be held on March 8, 2019 from 9:00 A.M until 2:00 P.M.  In addition, I am the Chair Person for students who receive the citizenship award every month (Student of the Month) and I am the Chair Person for the Honor Roll Ceremony, which is held every nine weeks.  I also conduct the End of the Year Awards Program for first grade through fourth grade, which is held annually.

We would like to welcome the APEX Program of Warner Robins, Georgia back again this year.  I assist in making the referrals to the program.  They provide additional counseling services to our students.  Some of the services that they offer are individual and group counseling.  If parents are interested in signing their child up for these services, please call me at 478-825-5296 Ext. 1406.

If you have any questions about the services, events or activities that we offer in the Counseling Department at Hunt Elementary School, please call me at 478-825-5296 Ext. 1406.  My office hours are from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. daily.
