HES Junior Beta Club

The Hunt Elementary Chapter of the National Junior Beta Club inducted fourteen new members on October 19, 2017. These students were invited to join based on their high academic achievement by maintaining an 89.5 or higher average for the 2016-2017 school year. The club is comprised of fourth and fifth graders.

Bright Ideas Grant

Congratulations to Mrs. Joy Bassett for received a Bright Ideas Teacher Grant from Flint Energies. Flint Energies rewards teachers money for innovative lessons and projects to energize learning in their students. Mrs. Bassett plans to use the grant money to enhance her STEAM curriculum. Congratulations Mrs. Bassett!

PCHS One Act Play

Congratulations to Peach County High School's One Act Play on a great performance yesterday in Jackson.Two of our students made All-Star Cast, R. Swearingane and George Garrett. Go Trojans!

PCHS Cross County

Congratulations to the Peach County High School Cross Country Team. The Boy's team won the Region Championship and the Girl's Team finished 4th.... Both the girls and boys advance to state.

 

BMS Reach Scholars

Congratulations to BMS Students Chaddrick Miller and Sam Peterman! These two young men are the winners of a $10,000 REACH Scholarship to be used at a HOPE Eligible college in Georgia upon completion of high school. Several of the colleges in Georgia will match the scholarship amount. We are proud of these students!

FVMS Reach Scholars

Congratulations to FVMS students, Jalaiyah Clayborn and Jakelin Dominguez were chosen as the FVMS 2017-18 REACH Scholars!  REACH stands for Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen.  It is a needs-based mentorship and scholarship program designed to encourage students, starting in middle school, to persist in their educational pursuits.  These students are provided with academic, social and financial supports needed to graduate from high school, access college, achieve post-secondary success and be prepared for the 21st-century workforce.  Upon graduating from high school, each student will receive a $10,000 scholarship for college in Georgia.

PCHS All Star

The Peach County High School is proud of Kearis Jackson. Kearis received his Under Armour All Star Game Jersey this morning. The game will be played on January 4, 2018 in Orlando, Florida. GO TROJANS!

School Status

All Peach County Schools will resume normal operations tomorrow, Thursday, September 14, 2017, to include Byron Elementary School and Byron Middle School. The power at these two buildings has been restored.

School Closure

The Peach County School System will be closed tomorrow Sept. 12, 2017, due to Hurricane Irma.

School is anticipated to resume normal operations on Wednesday.

School Status

All schools in the Peach County School District will be open tomorrow at their regularly scheduled times with the exception of Byron Elementary School and Byron Middle School. Byron Elementary School and Byron Middle School will be closed tomorrow due to power outages in these buildings.

Solar Eclipse

On Monday, August 21, 2017, we will experience a solar eclipse of the sun. The eclipse will begin around 1:00 p.m. and peak around 2:40 p.m. It will be a phenomenal event, and perhaps one that we will never experience again in our lifetime.

Each school will provide students with meaningful learning opportunities to help them learn about the eclipse. Because the eclipse will pose some safety challenges, anyone planning to view it should wear a pair of solar viewing glasses. We have purchased every student a pair of solar viewing glasses.

We will not have early release for students; however, we will make every attempt to ensure students are wearing their solar viewing glasses and enjoy this once-in-a

Kindergarten Registration

We appreciate your interest in your child attending Peach County Schools.  All students entering kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year are required to complete the kindergarten registration process. Packets may be picked up from any elementary school in the district.

Budget Meeting

The Peach County Board of Education will hold its Study Session on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Peach County Board of Education Office located at 523 Vineville Street, Fort Valley, GA.  During this meeting, there will be an opportunity for public input on the Peach County Board of Education FY18 Budget.

Request for Proposals for Construction Management At Risk Services for construction of the new Peach County High School

Sealed proposals for (CM) Construction Managers for the construction of Peach County High School will be received by the Peach County Board of Education (Owner), at the office of the Peach County Board of Education, 523 Vineville Street, Ft. Valley, Georgia, 31030 until 1:00p.m., prevailing time on June 6, 2017. 

The Peach County Board of Education proposes to select the most qualified Construction Management Firm (CM) to enter into a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contract for the construction for the above referenced project.   

The procedures for contracts as established by the Georgia Local Government Public Works Construction Law, O.C.G.A., 36-91-1 shall be followed. 

A package with requirements for CM At Risk proposals may be obtained with a written request via U.S. 
Mail at the office of James W. Buckley and Associates, Inc., 7 East Congress Street, Suite 800, Savannah, Georgia 31401, Attn:  Erich Tolksdorf or by email to ebt@jwbuckley.com. Written requests shall be on company letterhead and include firm name, principal (owner), phone and fax numbers, and mailing address with project name, dated and signed. 

The owner reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive technicalities and informalities.  Oral, fax or email responses will not be acceptable.

Congratulations to the 2017 Peach County High School Automotive Engine Build Team. They are sponsored by MSD Performance Products this season. The team qualified for nationals yesterday in their first ever competition build with a 30:46. Not pictured are alternates Donavan Clark and Trey Harper.

School closing

Due to inclement weather all Peach County Schools will be closed tomorrow, April 5, 2017.

Pre-K Registration

Registration for Peach County Pre-K will begin, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 and lasts through Wednesday, March 22, 2017.   There are 22 slots available at each elementary school. Guidelines and registration packets will be available at Hunt Elementary, Kay Road Elementary, Byron Elementary and the Peach County Board of Education beginning March 1, 2017.

The slots will be filled using a lottery process. Completion of the registration packet by March 22, 2017 does not guarantee your child a slot in the Pre-K class but does guarantee that your child’s name will be entered in the lottery for a chance to earn a slot. The lottery will be held on March 23, 2107. All applications for students received after March 22nd will be placed on a waiting list. If you have any additional question regarding pre-k registration, please contact one of our elementary schools.

All completed applications should be returned to the school you are registering your child for. Remember priority will be given to students within a school’s attendance zone.

District Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Ms. Tonya Penson for being selected as Peach County School District's Teacher of the Year for 2016-2017. Ms. Penson is currently a third-grade teacher at Byron Elementary School. She is also a product of Peach County Schools, graduating from Peach County High School. She later furthered her education by attending Fort Valley State College (now Fort Valley State University) earning a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.  In 2005, she obtained her Specialist Degree in Curriculum Instruction Management and Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

State Semi-Final AAA Football Tickets

  • Per Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Guidelines, all General Admission Tickets will be $15.00.
     
  • The only exception to this is that Peach County High School (PCHS) students can purchase one individual pre-sale ticket at the high school prior to 3:30 p.m. on game day for a discounted price of $13.00.
     
  • Per GHSA Guidelines, everyone must purchase a ticket. Only GHSA Athletic Passes will be recognized.
     
  • Pre-Sale General Admission Tickets will be on sale for $15.00 in the PCHS Main Office beginning Tuesday November 29 through Friday December 2, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
     
  • Reserved Seating Tickets will be $15.00 at the gate on Friday night.
     
  • Pre-Sale Reserved Seating Tickets will be on sale for $15.00 at the PCHS Football Field House on Tuesday, November 29 and Wednesday, November 30, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Current season ticket holders can purchase tickets at this time. Anyone wishing to purchase additional Reserve Season Tickets may do so at this time.
     
  • The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
     
  • All uniformed law enforcement officers are admitted at no charge.
