ESPLOST - Pennies For a Greater Peach County Groundbreaking Photo

In August 2019, Peach County Board of Education approved a referendum resolution seeking voter approval, on November 5, 2019, for continuation of the current ESPLOST (Education Special Purpose Sales Tax) and the issuing of bonds for construction of a New Peach County High School and other district projects. The ESPLOST is a 1-penny sales tax used to support school districts without adding additional taxes to property owners.

The New Peach County High School will be located at the intersection of Mosley Road and Highway 49 in Fort Valley, GA. A groundbreaking ceremony for the New Peach County High School was held on October 14, 2019.

2019 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) Scores CCRPI scores are based on five separate components – Content Mastery, Progress, Closing Gaps, Readiness and, for high schools, Graduation Rate. While the state averages for Content Mastery, Readiness, and Graduation Rate increased for elementary, middle, and high school, there were slight decreases in Progress scores, and larger decreases in the Closing Gaps component – which requires schools to meet elevated achievement targets for all subgroups.
